Our collaboration with Council of Agencies Serving South Asians

Within the framework of KHERG’s research examining ethnocultural barriers to living donor kidney transplantation (LDKT), we are partnering with the Council of Agencies Serving South Asians (CASSA) to raise awareness of kidney disease and organ donation in the South Asian community of Toronto. CASSA is an umbrella organization that supports and works to empower agencies, groups, and individuals who provide services to the South Asian community.

KHERG and CASSA have joined forces to engage the community in conversations about barriers in access to LDKT experienced by South Asian patients with end-stage kidney disease at the following events:

• CASSA’s 8^th Annual Health Equity Summit
• CASSA Research and Collaboration Symposium
• CASSA’s 7^th Annual Health Equity Summit
• CASSA’s Annual General Meeting

Through our strengthening collaboration, we will continue to engage members of diverse South Asian communities to participate in our research while also raising awareness of kidney disease and prevention, transplantation, and organ donation in the broader community.
