Launching Our Webinar Series: Core Transplant Curriculum

Poster to first webinar of our Core Transplant Curriculum series

May 31, 2018 marks the launch of our new webinar learning series, Core Transplant Curriculum. Through close collaboration with professionals across Ontario transplant programs and centres*, we jointly created a series on the essentials of kidney transplantation. With topics ranging from patient education to living donation, it will help frontline health professionals discuss transplantation and living kidney donation with patients province-wide.

Our first webinar was presented by Dr. Amy Waterman, Dr. Amit Garg, Dr. Istvan Mucsi, and Dmitri Belenko. As the premier session, it introduced transplant education, practical steps to incorporating educational resources into practice, and the provincial strategy – Enabling Access to Kidney Transplantation and Living Donation (ENAKT-LD) initiative.
Future sessions will not only explore more topics, but also provide a forum for health professionals to ask and discuss questions of interest, bolstering their readiness to help their patients make informed decisions in the management of their chronic kidney disease. Join us live in our webinars or watch recorded sessions, which are available to transplant health professionals and Transplant Ambassadors.
*Centres include St. Michael’s Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre, St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, Kingston General Hospital, The Ottawa Hospital, and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. We’d like to acknowledge and thank their continued efforts in this learning series.
