Conferences in Sunny San Diego: PHO and ISOQOL Conferences

The conference was a great opportunity to connect and learn from researchers working with patient reported outcome measures (PROMs) worldwide. Research students Jack Zhang and Sumaya Dano were able to present and share our research team’s work as poster and oral presentations.

Jack presented his work looking at the validation of the PROMIS Preference scoring system in patients on dialysis and kidney transplant recipients. Sumaya was invited to give an oral presentation on our work looking into the validation of PROMIS CATs in kidney transplant recipients.

The conference had many different interesting presentations including talks by patients sharing their perspectives of the use of PROMs in routine care of patients. It was lovely to hear from patients and get their input on how we should approach and improve our research initiatives. Great talks on the implementation of PROMs in clinical settings for different patient populations were also discussed. Our team enjoyed the beautiful San Diego weather and the abundance of knowledge shared and this year’s ISOQOL and PHO conference.
